Saturday night saw Hollywood (and Britain’s) finest gather for the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. Stars such as Selena Gomez (pictured above), Katy Perry, One Direction, Taylor Swift were among the guests at the Galen Center at USC Los Angeles for one of the most entertaining awards ceremonies in the party calender. The ceremony saw our very own One Direction performing, Will Smith presenting and Michelle Obama got slimed. This must be the best awards show of the season, FACT. We like seeing celebs in their sophisticated dresses at the Oscars but we prefer it even more when we see them getting SLIMED!

Although we didn’t attend the event, we still think it looked awesome. We have put together the best gossip of the evening and coolest tips from the stars:

VIP VA VA VOOM:

(1) Katy Perry looked seemed to be co-ordinating with the green goo the celebs were being gunged with. The 27-year old pop star wore a two piece crop top, green ruffle skirt and matching lime shoes. The singers top had a gooey texture to it, which looked like she could well have been slimed. Usually the single star looks soooo good, in the past Katy has said it’s OK to look quirky. “You wear the look; don’t let the look wear you. Also, it’s all about self-confidence. Self-confidence helps you pull off anything.” Hmmmm, Katy we think looking as good as you requires a little more than confidence eh?!

(2) Taylor Swift looked more Southern Belle than country bumpkin as she received her “Big Help” award for her work with charities. The singer who spent most of her evening with BFF Selena Gomez, wore a cream pleated dress, with plaited hair. The star has spoken about her hair dramas in the past, “when I wake up and my hair looks like a mess, I curl my hair by wrapping the hair around the curling iron to create a spiral look.” First stop is Babyliss I guess!

(3) Heidi Klum showed us why she is still at the top of her game in the modeling industry. The German supermodel was spurted with the green liquid while she presented an award with Glee’s Chris Colfer. The yummy mummy was accidently sprayed with the goo after her co-presenter was hit with a bucket full of the offending liquid. It didn’t matter though, as Heidi still looked astonishing in her beige mini dress and grey suede thigh high boots. She has said in the past that her physique is all owed to her trainer David Kirsch. “I love jogging and yoga. David kicks my butt, which gives me great, toned legs. ” Best be off to the gym then eh?!

(4) Emma Stone looked so loved up with boyfriend Andrew Garfield on Saturday night. The actress wore a cream skater dress with nude wedges to complete the summery look. What we loved though is her skin and glow. Emma has always had a great complexion and has previously said that, ” I have really sensitive skin and allergies, so a good skin care regime is essential. I love grapeseed oil just to calm my skin down.” HINT: We’ve noticed one of our fave moisturisers from Sanctuary has grapeseed oil and it’s just £7.50 – happy days!

Heidi Klum rocked the orange carpet at the Nickelodeon Kids Awards over the weekend. The German model looked magnificent with her golden locks, sun-kissed skin and smokey eyes – and sent the paparazzi flashbulbs into overtime.

Heidi, who has recently split from her husband Seal, has four children and a super successful career – we often wonder how she does it all. Although she is a world class supermodel, she has spoken about her beauty regime in the past and says it’s so easy, everyone can do it. This inspired us to trail through the internet and find Heidi’s ultimate tried and tested products:

(1) Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, £20

Heidi has always maintained that she has never really made an effort with make-up. The model says since she has had children she channels her energy into being a mother rather than spending hours painting her face. “I’ve learned to do a lot with a little makeup: I curl my lashes, put on mascara, and apply a natural-looking cream blush. When working a red carpet, the hot lights shining on your face can make your skin oily. The actress told Bella Sugar that her red carpet essential is blotting sheets. “I check my makeup about every hour to make sure everything is in place. Then I’ll use the blotting sheets, which are great alternatives to powder because you won’t wind up with an inch of makeup on by the end of the night.” To stop the shine on your skin, pop to Boots and grab some of these blotting papers.

(3) Benefit Mr Frosty Eye Pencil, £14

The presenter always looks wide eyed and awake, even if she has been running around after her kids and filming all day. Speaking to OK! USA, Heidi has said her best beauty tip came from her make-up artist, “My makeup artist, Linda Hay, taught me how to use a cream-colored pencil on the inside of the eye. Pixie Lott is working hard right now, touring the world to promote her album Young Foolish Happy. And it must also take a lot of effort to look so fab as Pixie looked amazing as she touched down in Japan over the weekend. Hot mama! The singer managed to look wowsers even after a 12-hour flight – how does she do it eh?! We adore her outfit and think she has the right mix between casual cool and sexy chic. Pixie knows how to look good in a dress and what shapes and colours suit her. At the Pride of Britain awards 2010 she showed Grosvenor house how to mix sexy glam with rock chick AND pull it off. Being the party Princesses we are, it is important to attend as many events as physically possible, (all work and no play makes us boring), so last night we went to a Jessie J gig for Vitamin Water,  the launch of some new smoking hot Ice watches and a Moshi Monsters Music Rocks events. All fuelled by cocktails and candyfloss (we’re trying to do a Katy Perry impression above but it’s not as easy as you’d think to make candyfloss sexy. Sorry!) Anyway, our main DUTY to you is to deliver outstanding celebrity gossip and tips so in reverse order this is what happened yesterday and why it was so bloomin’ interesting:

(3) Moshi Monsters Launch

Kids are going crazy for the online game Moshi Monsters – a way to get them using a computer and doing something entertaining but safe – and the launch of Moshi’s new music division gave celebrities an excuse to take their youngsters to a party for once. Javine Hylton took her children and Sophie Ellis Bextor and her kids showed up for a night of colour, candyfloss and face-painting at the Hard Rock Cafe. Check out the Bollywood dancers below – random!

Looking as amazing as always, Sophie has flawless skin and told us the secret is a regular cleansing routine and remembering to moisturise. We drilled her more and she admitted one of her fave brands is Aromatherapy Associates – click here to see more. Sophie’s doing a great job on the DJ circuit right now, but hoping to release some new songs soon. We hope she does as she has a unique sound compared to all the girl bands around right now. (2) Ice Watches Launch Party, Aqua Nueva Argyll Street

David Guetta is hardly ever out of the music press but now it’s his wife Cathy’s turn to take the spotlight. She’s behind the new watch brand Ice, and the new collection launched in swish celebrity style at super posh Spanish restaurant Aqua Nueva. With all Cathy’s connections, you could forgive her for whacking prices up but they’re not that expensive at all! They start at £59.99 for women and £74.99 for men – these little pieces of arm candy are well worth the cash, visit the website and start shopping!

If you need any more motivation to buy then you only have to look at the list of celebs that have worn them including the Jersey Shore cast and the One Direction boys have fast become one of the trendiest brands to be seen wearing. Una Healy from The Saturdays was seen wearing a pink design on the bands latest tour. Katy Perry also strapped her wrist up with a black Ice watch in her new video ‘Part of Me,‘ (thankfully the watch co-ordinated with her military themed video). We also spotted the McFly boys modeling the new brand of watches, and we have to say they look HOTTTTTT!

(3) Vitamin Water I-Create Party, Lounge Lover

Vitamin Water are one of the sponsors of London 2012 and as Jessie J is now their UK ambassador, so we were treated by an intimate gig by the BRIT winner to mark Vitamin Water’s new i-create flavour. The drink is really yummy – a mix of raspberry, vanilla and peach and Jessie looked rather tasty herself in a skintight catsuit. We caught up with the star, asking Jessie her ultimate beauty tip  and  The Price Tag singer said she likes to “accentuate my eye colour and shape.” To do this you need a good eye liner, we recommend Jessie’s fave, Chanel Le Crayon Yeux in black. You will have the heavy, rockstar look within minutes. Her other tip was Elizabeth Arden cream to smooth down dry patches, especially when filming or performing. She says she uses the cream, “on my cuticles, lips, hair and everything in between.” Right, off to Boots we go to stock up!

While French superstar DJ, David Guetta is traveling around the world playing at the hottest parties, his wife Cathy launched the new brand of watches by ICE at London’s Aqua Nueva yesterday. Now that Cathy is not setting the dance floor on fire every night, or maybe she is and is in recovery, she has turned her hand to something else. The French actress was joined by McFly guitarist Danny Jones, who took to the decks like a pro (we thought he was nearly as good as David!) Dutch singer/songwriter Esmee Denters also performed and has been rumored to be working with the French DJ. It was a fabulous party and the venue heightened the sense of luxury – we highly recommend checking it out.

Aqua Neuva is a Spanish restaurant, with a spectacular rooftop bar and combines flashes of bling with flashes of brilliance. Iberian Ham Croquettes, porcini mushroom and truffle risotto, Hake with black rice sauce, baby squid, alioli and a garlic and paprika dressing, are all mouth-wateringly delicious and very more-ish and it comes in sharing style platters to make eating a sociable experience. The bar has a superb choice of champagnes, wines and vodkas and waiters will always recommend vino which will compliment your food.

The KEY thing to know about Aqua Neuva is that there is at least one celeb event a month hosted at the venue, so if you hang around long enough or work in the area, then you will spot someone. The best way to go star gazing is to check out Twitter, as red carpet events will ALWAYS be talked about. But if you have a special event coming up and just want to say you went to the restaurant then this is what we recommend:

HOW TO GET IN: Dinner is pretty damn appetising and once you have tasted the Tapas you will think you have died and gone to Barcelona. Although the lunch menu is equally as nice, the clientele tend to be City workers on a business lunch. The evening has a much nicer atmosphere, even though City wags are still present, the overall scene is very relaxed yet entertaining. To book, either visit the website or call 0207 478 0540

HOW MUCH TO PAY: It’s not overly expensive for a swanky restaurant, although it’s not Nando’s. You are looking at paying at least £60 per person with a drink or two. But the food is beautiful and the service is incredible.

THE YAYS: (1) The glamorous interior and nothing more than perfect, roof-top terrace is enough to draw you in – plus it is home to LOTS of celebrity parties. (2)  The all-Spanish wine list is exquisite and we have yet to find a better bottle of Graciano Londono Rioja in London. (3) The tapas dishes are really excellent, with a clearly well sourced string of ingredients (our favourite was the Hake).

THE NAYS: (1) It’s a little bit showy for some, as you can expect plenty of alluring, well-heeled people – which may annoy some, but others will love. (2) Desserts are the restaurants achilles heel. The lemon tart with the banana and cookie ice cream is far too much for even the sweetest of tooth, and is the odd dish on the menu. (3) If you are looking for a light, non-stodgy meal, then this is NOT the place for you. All those ladies in their body con dresses and slight figures had better steer clear.

INSIDER KNOWLEDGE: The tomato bread and olive oil mash is Daisy Lowe’s favourite items on the menu – yum! It’s rumored that this is THE place Prince Harry loves to go before hitting the town hard.

WHAT COULD HAPPEN: Although you may be a little short of cash afterwards, you would of experienced a great venue and intense Spanish flavours. The most memorable event was watching an intimate gig by Alicia Keys here as she celebrated an album launch. At that event, we chatted to JLS and Aston Merrygold told us he wears women’s trainers as he is size 7. Random!

How chic did Jessie J look at the Vitamin Water I-Create party yesterday? (Pictured above) The Domino singer wore a multi coloured catsuit, killer heels and dip-dyed blonde hair (ah, we miss the purple now!) We have a yearning for a new catsuit, and this one by Geri Halliwell for Next is right up our (and Jessie’s) street. It’s a snip at £55 and you can buy it here now.

Winner of the Critics Choice Awards Jessie braved the cold in a thigh skimming Vivienne Westwood dress. She teamed the unusual mini with seamed stockings and sky high Louboutin shoe boots. We adore Jessie’s footwear so much that we found something nearly as impressive as the super chic, French shoe designer. As soon as Do It Like A Dude catapulted Jessie to superstardom, her style changed dramatically. Her trademark black, blunt bob was being copied by many aspiring fashionistas and her unique style was being talked about by fashion editors around the globe. We have a bit of an attachment to leather jackets at the VIP office and think the one Jessie has on is so dapper, we hardly know it’s high street. Sophie Ellis-Bextor knocked the party goers dead at the Moshi Monsters album launch last night. The event which was held at London’s Hard Rock Cafe saw celebs play with this year’s version of a Tamagotchi and they LOVED every minute of it. Sophie looked elegant and smart in her vintage dress and heels. Her make-up was as flawless as ever – porcelain skin, dramatically lined eyes and rouge pout – Soph has one of the best faces in the business.

Being a mum, singer, songwriter and wife,  we often wonder where she finds the time to look so damn polished. In fact, Sophie has spoken in the past about her beauty regime. So we’ve trailed through the archives and these are Sophie’s tried and tested products:

(1) Barry M Dazzle Dust, £4.59

Sophie is known for her statement eye make-up when she’s performing and this multi-coloured fluorescent eye make-up from Barry M will work just as well if you’re rocking at a festival this summer. Looking after your skin is so important and no-one knows this better than Sophie. Her china doll complexion needs to be blemish free and smooth; so old make-up residue is not an option. Sometimes people can be a little bit conservative, but you can just wash it off if it doesn’t work. When I was 16 I realised the importance of finding a good lipstick if you are pale, like me, as it warms up your complexion. I usually use the same one to add colour to my cheeks too.
