London Last Night: Strictly SW7 Museums Party

Tuesday 22nd of November 2011 06:11

The Event: Bubble Caterers Museums Party

The Venue: Natural History Museum, V&A Museum and Science Museum

The VIPs: Everyone! Also,  the dinosaur we met at the Natural History Museum was pretty specatacular

The Gossip: (1) This was truly an event where everyone was treated like a VIP. Last night the Bubble Food Caterers joined in with a triple whammy of delicious food, sensory delights and top entertainment in three top London museums: the Natural History Museum, V&A Museum and Science Museum, with each one better than the last.

Bubble food at the Science museum served liquid nitrogen mojitos – how can you top that???

(2) In celebration of the £28 million transformation of Exhibition Road, guests were divided into three groups, each starting at a different museum, with everyone moving round simultaneously at two intervals during the evening.

(3) The food looked absolutely incredible at all three venues, and it tasted even better. The rather weird idea of strawberry cream-flavoured paste in a toothpaste tube paid off (they’ve been looking at Heston Blumenthal’s notes), and we loved the bowls of pina colada, each with edible gold leaf on top. Sure, gold doesn’t taste of much, but how often can you say you’ve eaten actual gold? We also adored the liquid nitrogen mojitos and molecular olives, which took centre stage of the molecular gastronomy theme at the Science Museum.

(4) Last night was a true gastronomy delight. There were so many different tastes and sensations our tastebuds our still recovering!

Anyone can hire these museums for an event for the right amount of money. A dinner next to the diplodocus at the natural history museum is costly but it would go down in history. Contact the individual museums events teams if you’re interested…
